Guinness-record attempt on 27.09.2010. was successful again in the Dancing University! At the Széchenyi Square of Pécs there were 826 people dancing the the belly dance. Like the first time in 2005, the dance teacher was Indzsi Deniz. Video Photos
The story of the first belly dance Guinness World Record: the first belly dance course of the Dancing University started in October, 2000. I started my teaching at the same time. At this first occasion there were a lot of people on my rehearsals and its number was growing. In 2003 the course was announced to a little dance room (60 m2). Because of the number of the participants was not limited, there were 136 applicants for the course. Everywhere one could see participants (the staircase was full, also). I had to cancel the rehearsal and next time we got a coliseum...I never forget the moment when the 136 dancers were moving together in front of me following my motion. Then it came about my mind that it can be a Guinness World Record. I wrote my idea to the Dancing University project and asked their help in the organization work. On 27 September, 2005 the big dream came true. In the big hall of the Medical University after a 10-minutes-long teaching 525 people started to dance. From them 267 people was registered, so this number was the official number of the record. In 2008 in Malvern (UK) 535 dancers was registered, so now this is the record. On 27 September, 2010 in the frame of the Dancing University we try to get back the record, the lead. As the owner of this idea I believe in the success that depends on everybody, on everybody's enthusiasm! (Indzsi Deniz)
